YouTube - MiniDisc Repair - Sony MZ-E10 - Another Attempt at this Fragile Flagship MiniDisc Player

The Sony MZ-E10 is a beautiful, but fragile flagship MiniDisc player from late 2002. Sony sacrificed everything for the pursuit of "thinness" including the 3.5mm headphone jack!

I had a dead one previously that never powered on, but at least it came with a working remote.

I received this one because it was showing "READ ERR" and making some pretty horrible "screeching" sounds as the sled motor (my guess) was trying to move the laser sled around.

I confirmed the error and then took it apart to do some troubleshooting.
