Gamespot’s Aion review

It may seem late to some – but Gamespot seems to have taken their time and leveled/explored quite a bit before wanting to release a review for the much-heralded Aion.  Surprisingly (to me at least, who hasn’t played it… yet…?), it scored just over average which is definitely not something I expected.  I’ve followed the game since it was a Korean beta and have a few friends I check in that are playing it.  Nothing I’ve heard has not been positive so I thought this review was interesting and worth checking out.  Looks like i’ll have to check in w/my buds again and see what their take is after a few months have passed!

Gamespot

my thoughts after the break…

Now just so you know my MMO background – I hadn’t really played anything til WoW.  Granted, I loved old-school RPGs from the C64 days (Mars Saga, Bards’ Tale, Ultima, etc.) to the Amiga and beyond.  So once I started WoW during launch, I was hooked – not only was I playing as much (more?) as I was working, I got into it, joined a raiding guild, then was the GM for a raiding guild that, at one time, was fourth in overall progression on Alleria.  This was all pre-BC and I had to quit after that for personal reasons.  After that, I had limited time so I would keep up with all the things going on in WoW through websites, buddies, etc., but I also started playing games that I didn’t have to be “committed” to (in terms of raid schedules, etc.).  I got pretty hooked on Lineage 2 and even Tabula Rasa (snif) before it died (I was there til the end!).  Anyway, I really was surprised to read this Aion review from Gamespot since this is a game I’ve pretty much heard only good things about and I do plan to give it a whirl when I get a chance (when’s that???).
